Consent and Power Dynamics

  • Workshop possibilities include:

    • Power Dynamics in the Rehearsal Room: We recommend this workshop as a starting point for everyone. Power Dynamics are in every organization and structure we are a part of, so it is helpful to understand and address them before implementing other changes.

    • Consent in the Performance Process

    • Boundaries for Performers

    • Creative Communication and Critique

    • An Ethical Pedagogy of Touch

    • Trauma-Informed Performance Process

See our full workshop deck with descriptions of our offerings.

Can be tailored for students, faculty, or professionals.

Or check out our Care-Full Creativity Accreditation Program for Dance Conventions, Dance Studios, and Academic Dance Departments.

Conversations around consent are essential for any educator, especially performers. The consent workshop offered launched a much larger conversation for young artists who are now thinking critically about consent and agency in and out of the studio.

You provided our students with a marvelous introduction to the
subject matter, engaged them in experiential learning through an active (and fun!)
workshop, helped them relate what they learned to their individual creative
processes and gave them valuable resources that they can use to investigate further
on their own.
