Momentum Stage, with support from the Warehouse Arts Collective, presents a weekend of workshops with Intimacy Directors International at Rising Starz in Davie.
Intimacy for Directors, Stage Managers, Choreographers, and Administrators:
Using Intimacy Directors International’s Five Pillars of Safe Intimacy Direction as a foundation, we will explore a safer process for enthusiastically consensual intimacy choreography that keeps the entire company in constant collaborative communication, helping to prevent harassment and abuse in rehearsals, backstage, and during performances.

About Dan Granke:
Dan is a Director, Fight Director, Intimacy Director, and Movement Specialist based in Tampa, Fl.
His Intimacy work has appeared at Urbanite Theatre and Tampa Repertory Theatre. His Fight work has appeared at Joe's Pub, The Asolo Repertory Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, American Stage, Urbanite, Tampa Shakes, Stageworks, Jobsite, St Petersburg Opera, Studio 620, Tampa Rep, Three Bone Theatre, and Unto these Hills Outdoor Drama where he has been the fight director for three seasons.
Directing Credits include: Ready Steady Yeti Go (Stageworks), Macbeth and Richard III (Tampa Shakes), Beruit and Blue Surge (Cena/Cenari) Bethany and Tender Napalm (TRT2) and US Drag, They Don't Pay We Won't Pay, and She Kills Monsters (Theatre USF)
He holds a BFA from the University of Michigan, and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He teaches physical comedy, mask, and acting at the University of South Florida, and served as the Producing Artistic Director of Tampa Shakespeare Festival. He is an associate member of SDC.
About Nicole Perry:
Nicole Perry is the founder of Momentum Stage in South Florida. She is also a freelance choreographer and intimacy choreographer. See her blog series about intimacy choreography here. She is a former resident choreographer of Hedgerow Theatre (Philadelphia) and the Miami Children’s Theater.
Nicole is currently enrolled in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis certification through Integrated Movement Studies and is researching a PhD at Ocean Seminary College on the Theology of the Body in Performance. Nicole has completed Intimacy for the Stage training with both IDI and TIE.
Nicole is most interested in how our bodies allow us to encounter the Other, and the stories our bodies tell each other. She is an associate member of SDC and a member of ATME.
